The tiger is the largest cat species, most recognisable for their pattern of dark vertical stripes on reddish-orange fur with a lighter underside.

I always start things like this by pointing out that I love both Lions and Tigers, both are amazing. But to me the fact that anyone could consider who would win in a fight a debate. The sad truth is we don't need to just debate man has done the unthinkable and unforgivable act of actually putting it into action, and not just a few times. There are many instances on record, most famously the Romans often had them fight to the death for entertainment. What they have shown is that it was never really a debate. As that requires two opposing sides with at least a similar chance at winning. But the records show it was no contest, The Tiger won against a Lion in some 95% of the fights. If you get down to it this makes since... A Male Tiger can way anywhere from 50-200 lbs (even more for Siberian) than a Male Lion while the Tiger is slightly shorter at the shoulder. Tigers are more aggressive, faster and stronger than Lions pound for pound, they have better coordination and fighting skills, there are plenty of videos that prove this. Most people that are bias in favor of the lion don't take the time out to observe these facts. I am by no means trying to diminish the " King of the Jungle" title from lions, although most lions live in Savannah grasslands, and a more appropriate title would be "King of the African Savannah's" where they live in prides and may be considered superior in that region (since there are no tigers there), but when it comes down to the nitty gritty. Lions have better coordination and fighting skills then a tigerM 

Most will say who would win in a fight not because of info and facts, but because they favor one over another. I'm giving the honest answer. I like all cats the same, but in a 1 on 1 fight between at lion and a tiger, the tiger would most likely win. Tigers are bigger and have denser muscles than lions do. A lion's diet consists of wildebeest, zebra, and buffalo. A tiger's diet consists of deer, crocodiles, gaur, and even bears. While the chances of a tiger and lion meeting and face off in a fight, chances are, a tiger would win. Tigers go for the kill quick, while lions pound and pounce. The mane on a lion does protect it, tigers also aim for other vital areas. In some circumstances however, a lion would win. Fights between a tiger and a lion often occurred in Rome, and the tiger won the majority of the time. Lions always fight to end and to make some films people need as much as 3-5 tigers vs 1 lion. To make the film called Big Cage they needed 4 Male Bengal tigers and they were beaten one after another. they were definitely males because all of them have balls. Tigers in that film were all beaten and director of Big Cage still didn't see tiger winning. He decided to cut out lion killing, defeating and dominating tigers and not only HE chased that lion into cage but said that it was A tigress who chased lion. This was the biggest lie in history.

Lions have almost no chance to loose with a tiger. A famous tiger EXPERT Kailash Sankhala Story of the Indian tiger 1977 page 119 says a lion would beat a tiger. The tiger MIGHT have a chance to get out of this flair. Tigers because they live in deep jungles they are more flair and can swift out somehow and escape. I personally made a video that consists of over 30 clips where the lion destroys the tiger. Before that I had tried to make a tiger beating lion montage. After I realized how few clips there was for that, the Lion was then truly recognized as King Of Beasts by me...M+10

I'm glad I picked this one because someone putted a lot of words and detail but they said they love all big cats and animals which is my comment! As I was saying I'm keeping as a pet lions, tigers, panthers, jaguars, leopards, cheetahs and lots lots lots lots more so you better watch your words animals are in my blood because there cute, playful, funny, clean and their very INteresting to watch and play with and I had been searching and watched plus talked about animals all my life and a zillions of animals are going to kiss huge and play with me all the time and I will never ignor and leave them by my side and one day I asked god that I wanna be the queen of mother nature because I'm going to protect feed play and give them lots of love no one loves animals more than me have a nice day P. I love the beautiful lightning speed of cheetahs. Strength is nice, but speed and grace win it for me. It's hard for me to choose a favorite, though, because I love all big cats and all animals.M+28

4Jaguar

Jaguar have the strongest bite of any cat period, they are faster then lions and tigers and the are the best swimmers. Unlike lions who sleep and roll around for 90% of their entire lives, jaguars are more active and are spending their time hunting cooler prey. Crocodiles and anacondas scare lions, but they don't stand a against the fearsome Jaguar. Tigers are endangered which is a shame for a predator with such a cool design, but that just proves jaguars are superior and can go the distance. Also Jaguars may not be faster then cheetahs, but your silly little cheetah would get curve stomped by a Jaguar. Also this is 100% subjective but I think their pattern is the coolest, but that is just my opinion. I hope you people see it my way.M 

I think that jaguars should be first because they can take down anaconda and some can even take down crocidiles and the only cool thing about cheetahs is that there very fast and I never heard of a tiger taking down anacondas or crocs and lions there's really nothing really cool about them the only thing is that the have puffy hair and just to let you know experts are saying that there thinking jaguars are the strongest cats they have a way better bite force than a lionns have 600 bite force tiger haves 1050 bite force and the jaguar haves 2000 so get it right broM+9

The Jaguar doesn't drag it's prey into trees like the Leopard because it has no challengers in its region. It kills by crushing through the skull or spine with the strongest bite force of any big cat. It swims all the time and very efficiently due to the many waterways in its region. The Jaguar is only the third largest big cat and is significantly smarter and more cunning than lions. They kill fully grown crocodiles as well. Look up some Jaguar crocodile videos on YouTube. Leopards are graceful, tree-climbers, not only a great cat because of being a king of its trees they rule ground and trees! They are worthy of king just like tigers! I mean they must be strong to haul x2 their body weight up a tree! Don't you think!M+9

They are so cute. This is off topic but I need help. My best friend moved away, and I have had a hard time with it, she never answers to calls and can barely facetime or Skype. But last night my new best friend called me telling me that she was moving to California, just like my other one. Answer to leopard lover: Tell her how you feel, and if she does move away give her a note to hang in her room that says "Skype(Your Name)" And make her vow to Skype you everyday! If she misses one night ask her why, it could be either I had a piano recital, and you be like okay, not her fault. But if its something like Oh yeah I got home late and I forgot... you say okay... but then if she misses it periodically then there is something going on. Hope this helps!M+1

What? How is a cougar 10th? There is without a doubt if all the cats were the same size, the cougar would dominate all cats. Cougars are way better than lynx and bobcats. A bobcat or lynx couldn't kill a wolf but a cougar could easily kill a wolf. I've seen fights between a cougar and a lynx/bobcat and the cougar dominated them. Cougars kill prey bigger for there size. If a cougar were the size of a lion then they would kill the biggest prey. Cougars are also very pretty. There is no denying that.M+13

Yes Cougars are kinda big but not really. Usually 130-200 pounds. About 5-6 feet in length. They look really skinny but are so pretty! Cougars are considered big cats because they can't roar. Sp they aren't small but are considered small cats. So Cougars are the best cat!M+7

8Black Panther

Black panthers a beautiful, mysterious creatures that deserve more praise than they get. They are stealthy, and have excellent camouflage which makes them dangerous predators. Vote or don't, but in my opinion, they are one of the most wonderful animals discovered on Earth.M+2

I don't get how the Black Panther is 8th considering it is basically a black version of a leopard and jaguar. Also Panthers are the best at hunting out of all big cats especially at night. They are also the third or Fourth Strongest Cats after the tiger and lion.M

I hate poachers. I am a big fan and I love big cats and people are sick and mean and stupid because when found out they will go to jail. People if you have a heart, please vote. This leopard is very beautiful, and no matter what somebody would pay me I wouldn't kill this leopard for nothing, or any big cat for that matter. You would be an angel if you could help it survive. I really hate poachers. They might get caught for killing wild cat but that does not change the fact that they killed one. I would give away every non-living possession that I have to save a family of wild cats because some humans are cruel to wild cats when they have done nothing against humans. Tigers are strong but are not in the same league of the male lion. The density of the Lion's bones and muscles goes in favor off the lion. The lion is stronger built at the point of being one of the toughest animal on earth. He possesses more stamina than a tiger and is strike carries more weight. The tiger's strike as little effect on a mature male lion. The difference is obvious when we see them hunting. Tigers use swiftness more then power when hunting and must do fast results. Tigers are not capable for long sustain efforts. If they fail one they usually don't do a second try. They easily retreat when they confront serious opposition. Rarely do frontal attacks unless it is safe they usually go by the back. They generally avoid combats. Being stronger and tougher, not as flexible as tigers lions get the job done by using more brutal force at a regular basic while at the same time having domestic combats and more serious combats as well. I like ligers, but the mother needs to be cut open so the baby will come out. Also due to the lack of growth hormones, it will literally grow it self to death, because it is a breed of two animals that would never meet in the wild. So, to conclude, I like ligers, as I said earlier, but it is humans "playing" God by breeding two animals that would never meet, let alone mate, so it causes harm to the mother and the child.
Also, I found out that in a few years, Hercules the liger will weigh about 2,500 lbs.M

Some of these Bengal tigers tend to grow even stronger than Siberian tigers! And these things kill CROCODILES as if they were nothing! And my word, they are super-smart and courageous. They can also climb the straightest of trees!M+4
